This painting is inspired by Nairobi’s public transportation taxis, known as matatus, renowned for their graffiti-style artwork. Matatus are more than just buses, they are a cultural phenomenon. Their flashy, colorful decorations and blaring music celebrate whatever is hip and current and as a kid I always dreamt of having my artwork on them.
